I think they might be. I cleaned all the bits around that area and there weren't all that many to start with, and hopefully the foam will do the trick.

I scraped and it came off and it was great. In huge black lumps. The rest of the cooker is still best described as filthy, but the bottom might even hav a touch of gleam under the remaining grime.
