I shall list it as "transferable skills" and hope there is never an anti-personnel device emergency.

Just how am I doing with my work recently?

Beginner: 9 seconds
Intermediate: 37 seconds
Expert: 143 seconds

(Expert is about 50 seconds off my previous personal best of around two years ago, which is when I last went through a mine-sweeping phase, but I am currently somewhat hindered by only using my laptop touchpad, which has developed a rather dodgy left-click. I feel that getting out my usb mouse would be a step too far, so it will probably have to stay at this unsatisfactory level for a while.)

I really don't understand why supporting statements don't write themselves.

I've had seven seconds before, but I don't really count beginner because it mostly depends entirely on where the mines are rather than skill. I've been lucky enough to get grids where you only need to click a few squares to clear all the free squares.

I must absolutely not now look on metalib to see what studies ahve been done on minesweeper. ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I got it down to four seconds once through blind mindless clicking. But I'm not sure it was worth the 79 days of investment.

I think it probably was. Four seconds!

It was great! There was no application of skill whatsoever! It was like strafing the deck of a ship with a distant machine gun, and with one's eyes closed. I've never actually done that, mind. I had to stop playing Mindsweeper when I started dreaming about it. And also daydreaming about it. That just felt a bit wrong.

Minesweeper. I don't want to play mindsweeper. It sounds upsetting.
