I hope you don't either. It's another sign of western medicine thinking it knows better than nature. Natural childbirth ensures a baby hangs on, and only goes through the cervix when it's stretched so thin that the nerves are pinched and blocked. Of course, western medicine has decided there is a magical figure of 10cms for every woman that is Go for childbirth. They'll both force the cervix to that dilation before they let you push, and they'll also tell you to ignore your body and start pushing as soon as you reach it.

Grrr. Sorry, that's more graphic and ranty than I intended, but it's amazing how such a seemingly insignificant approach can feel like such a violation when you do understand the purpose of your cervix!
