Reasons not to go to the parental home "to work"

I am finding it difficult to write because my DAD is playing his music too loud.

I don't know why he's listening to music at all when he's supposed to be working!

So was I :) When I'm working at home (or pretty much all the time really) I have something playing. Offspring learned remarkably early to time their requests for cash and favours with the right piece of music.

The scary thing is that my Dad was exactly the same. If he was humming Beethoven's 9th or especially one of Bach's cello pieces I knew I could nip in quick and ask for lifts at inconvenient times or subs on the pocket money. Mahler on the other hand...
