Things I have bought to wear on my feet.

I bought these shoes on Etsy. They are Camper, and they have a city map on them! I have not yet worn them, but I enjoy looking at them. I haven't worn them because I'm not very good at shoes and I don't know what to wear them with. They need thickish tights, I think, especially as the shoes are a little loose. Anyway, even as floor decoration I am very pleased.

These are from Ebay, a pair of red suede slouchy calf boots that I bought for about £2 plus postage. I am not sure about them yet, I worry that they make me look a bit like I'm pretending to be some sort of Christmas elf.

My most recent and probably best loved purchase. Red knee high boots! They are a little too high a heel for me to walk confidently in them yet, but they are actually shiny, and they are slightly too tight on the calf, but they totally do up, and I love them.

Coming soon - pictures of every dress I own, with a plaintive cry for help. You lucky people. (I am having a minor crisis relating to clothing, work wear, and my not-confirmed-yet post that will require more smartness.)

Those Camper shoes are very decorative! I solve the slightly-too-big conundrum by putting insoles inside shoes. If you did that, you could wear them with footsocks for a bare-legged/ankle/foot look. Or else opaque tights?

If you want to avoid the Christmas elf look, then don't wear the slouchy boots with anything green is my advice.

The shiny red boots look great!

I put some heel pads in the back which helped a bit, but I should try insoles too. I think part of it is that I think of shoes as very girly, and me as not very girly, so they unnerve me. At the moment I think that they won't go with hairy legs, but that might be because I'm not used to them.

Those slouchy boots are amazing and I covet them. I think you are all right on the Christmas elf front as long as you stay away from dagged hems and white fur trim. Oh, and green.
