Menstrual cup time again. The one drawback I have is that there are a few problems with masturbating. I guess the clenching is pulling the cup further up my vagina, which made it really difficult to get out the next morning, especially with the added slipperiness. I also need to remember to empty it right before I go to bed, as this cycle my flow has been heavier. And that will probably take care of the other problem too, although afterwards I just want to curl up and sleep instead of fiddling in the bathroom.

I just read Dancing Star which is a children's biography of Anna Pavolva, very sugary and unremittingly adoring. It was quite interesting to read an account of her life and travels, particularly the bits about the Russian ballet school. Anyone want it? Free to whoever would.

Yeah, sure, I'll take it! Because I don't have enough books lying around that I haven't read. You need my address, I trust, unless you are psychic?

Well, I'm certainly not planning to keep it forever, so I could always send it on to someone else afterwards....

It can be the travelling sugary livejournal book! Hurrah.

[livejournal.com profile] pisica is passing on the book, so if you email me your address at my livejournal email I'll get it off to you.

Yeah, I'm sure; the last thing I need in my life is another book to read...so I thought someone else should enjoy it, and I can always pick it up at the library. Enjoy it!!!

Yet another sad person that you beat me to the book. :(

I am happy to pass the book on once I've read it. :)

[identity profile] protoainsley.livejournal.com 2005-03-21 12:17 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be AWESOME. :)

[identity profile] slemslempike.livejournal.com 2005-03-21 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Yes please, if you email me at my livejournal address I'll get it off to you, apparently the first person on the exciting journey!

[identity profile] pisica.livejournal.com 2005-03-21 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, I'm going to decline it after all - I have so much to do and am feeling overwhelmed, so please send it to someone who will be able to read and enjoy it. Maybe I'll pick it up on a later journey.

It would be mentrual cup time for me now... if I had one.

[identity profile] slemslempike.livejournal.com 2005-03-21 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
You should get one! Seriously, they're much cheaper in the long run, better for your body and more environmentally sounds. Plus you get to play Psycho when you rinse out the cup. Eee! Eeee!

I hope you don't use a knife anywhere in the process...

It's sort of surreal to read your article, because all of the other entries on my friends list are wistful outpourings of grief for some of our friends that just died--but I mean that in a good way.
When you are knee-deep in death, it's nice to have a reminder that life goes on.
I'm sorry that this is the first comment I've given you in such a while; I plead extenuating circumstance (spuriously).

I'm so sorry to hear that - I've just read your latest entry. How horrible. I hope that you're doing okay, and that Rose recovers well.

(And now I'm wishing that the post in the middle of the outpourings of grief had been rather less, um, messy.)
