This is largely a list of "what I can find in UCLan library", asmost of the month all my books were in boxes and largely inaccesible, except the Strangers in Paradise books, which I found I'd packed in a drawer. I'm finding that I enjoy Margaret Drabble a great deal, and thankfully there is a whole shelf of her books, so I can keep up with them. I find her narrative quirks a little jarring at times, but once I get used to them I think they fit in perfectly well. The Play Room was rather a shocking read. I picked it up because I'd enjoyed Doves of Venus last month, but this went rather differently, and the ending upset me a lot.
I liked My Friends the Miss Boyds, although having now read it I can see why

Three New Girls was a little disappointing as the end to the Bramber Manor series, but I kind of knew it was going to be through comments in The Book (Encyclopaedia of Girls' School Stories) anyway. It wasn't dire, at all, but Catherine was gone, and the humour of Audrey, A New Girl, just wasn't working.
