TV, books and unwise drinking habits.

I went to see Edge of Love and really loved it. When I say it I mostly mean Keira. Though I did really like the relationship between the women. I finished watching Dead Like Me, I really hate child-George. She's a horrendous brat, and her parents should have disciplined her properly instead of accepting her rudeness and bad behaviour. I love Rube, and I love Dolores and her big brown eyes. Now I am watching Psych, which is adorable. I also saw Lab Rats, which was excruciatingly bad.

However, it has not all been lying around watching things. I had to go to Glasgow for a few days to work, and while I was there I met up with several lovely people. First of all I met up with [livejournal.com profile] coconutswirl for the first time, and had a lovely coffee and then a rather productive bookshop, where I got all sorts of things for not very much money, which is the best kind of bookshopping.

Then on Tuesday I met up with [livejournal.com profile] majea and [livejournal.com profile] yiskah and later [livejournal.com profile] circumlocute for tapas and rather more drink than was wise. [livejournal.com profile] yiskah was very kind and in addition to lending me money (I left my wallet in Edinburgh) then offered me a bed for the night, lent me clothes to wear the next day and made sure that I had cash for the underground and lunch the next day. It was thus even more embarrassing to have to explain to her that I had vomited on the floor of her spare room in the night, and although I thought I had cleaned it all up, I was worried that as I was still rather unwell, I might not have got it all, and merely masked the stench with the smell of antiseptic spray. I'm very sorry about that indeed Jess, though I'm pretty sure no shoes were harmed.

Get well soon. Hooray for productive book-shopping. I need to do that!

I hope you're feeling okay too. I felt better once lunch came around, though there was a nasty moment on the way to work when I thought I might have managed the underground, only to be about to vomit on the person in front of me on the stairs, but luckily I overcame that with pure willpower. I need to drink more often so that I don't get over-excited and drink too much on sporadic occasions.

Today I did more bookshopping, and got the new Lauren Berlant book. It looks great!

Oops. It sounds like it was a good night, though. And on a Tuesday? That's good going!

I am usually a full time student, so I am not used to remembering why such activities are best kept to the weekend! It was a really lovely night, actually.

Heh. Listen, you're here and I haven't seen you at all! I think I may have my life just about in-order enough - coffee? Or are you busy busy busy?

That would be lovely! I am away for the next two weekends, but apart from that am free most of the time. When is good for you? (I will try very hard indeed not to be sick anywhere near you.)

I have only just seen this as I have been Off The Internet since last Weds, but I can confirm that there was no vomit to be found on our spare room floor! You did a damn sight better than I would've done in the circumstances!
