There are so many things I need to specify that I don't want in a laptop. Touchscreen, for instance. And everyone's putting the mouse bit off-centre, which I don't much like. It must be especially annoying if you're left-handed. Would I get used to having a non-central mouse thing quite easily, do you think? Is it the sort of thing I have a reaction to and then actually quite like and judge myself for? I've worked out that I'm going to have to just buy Windows 7 (again - since I can't find what I did with my disks for it) so I can uninstall Windows 8, which looks horrible. Where else can I look for a laptop that isn't John Lewis or PC World? I have forgotten entirely about computer shops. I miss Argos here, because I want to buy cheap Stuff, and don't know where to go. Someone has already pointed me in the direction of Hema to buy a bowl.

Yesterday I went to a supermarket where it turns out they have no bags for you, not even to buy if you forget yours. Luckily I had remembered to pick up white bin bags, so I carried most of my shopping home in one of those. Also odd at the supermarket, I had a dreadfully unwieldy trolley and nearly hit people several times. None of them apologised to me for nearly being run over. MOST un-British.
