Tomorrow evening will be my 7th Egypt Air flight in 6 weeks (New York to Cairo). I am therefore very excited because the movies will have finally changed - I had already watched pretty much everything I thought I'd enjoy - Gone Girl (meh to ugh but quite gripping), Despicable Me (pretty good!), Inside Out (GREAT), Hot Pursuit (adequately amusing and I don't think it deserved the critical kicking it got) and Spy (which I really liked because in addition to Melissa McCarthy there were LOADS of women in it and it was very funny). Unfortunately the November films trailer on the website isn't highlighting anything I especially want to see, except maybe the Minions movie. The flight is 12 hours - 6 or so will hopefully be sleeping, but that's still at least 3 films I need to fill my time with.

Maybe there will also be different episodes of How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, and Mike and Molly, which are all shows I don't regularly watch but find soothingly tolerable to watch when waiting for the same meal to be served. I rather hope that they haven't also changed the menu, as it is pleasing for my fussy tastebuds to know that we will either have beef or chicken, in a bland sauce, with no mushrooms and no spices. And to have the slight frisson of excitement wondering if it will be the chocolate cake, which is better than the coffee cake, which in turn is far preferable to the carrot cake.

I generally travel hand luggage only, to save waiting around at the baggage carousels, but doing that means that it's more difficult for me to wander round the terminals while waiting to board, as it's usually too heavy to be comfortable, and I dont' have anyone to leave it with. On the occasions I've only had a small light bag for carry-on I've felt like a whole new woman. And, indeed, when I changed planes in Amsterdam, where they have delightful little trollies for you to wheel around your handluggage. Maybe I need to just start checking bags more often and trusting they won't get lost.
