I have just come back from work drinks which were very nice, especially as it narrowed as people left for buses and trains. I have had 3 glasses of wine and 1 pint of lager after a misunderstanding,a dn I am VERY DRUNK, as in have gone to bed before half ten as I am so tired and it is quite spinny even witha foot on the ground so I thought I would do some internetting to stop me being sick. It seems to be working. People are very nice in my team and funny and someone used to live in Saudi Arabia so we talked about how weird it was being an expat there and the retrospective oddness of having had a housekeeper (actualy everyone said houseboy or housegirl but that is DREADFUL so I sat housekeeper now) and explained to my new manger how readful it was. But it was nice, and everyone is grea, and I cant' work out whether I have had a lot to drink, or I am just a lightewaight now or if having only had marmite sandwichs, peant butter sandichess, a packet or marmite crisps and some cake has made me not cope with alochol. Now i am going to slee. I don't know what is going on becasue I am being very good and not checking lj or twitter or even my email at worl... because the desks are cloe together and people can see my creen byt it stull counts. goodnight. I hope ou are well.

Am in Dublin, in my teenage bedroom, though all the furniture is different. Work drinks sounds fun.

They were pretty fun! At the Speigel Terrace (as they have renamed the tent) on George Street. My new team are all very friendly and I enjoyed talking to them, which was lovely - the cake before we went for drinks was GREAT.

Is the new furniture nice in your teenage bedroom?

I had not heard of the "one foot on the ground to stop the spinning" thing until I saw Frances Ha this week. I generally just lie very still and enjoy the spinning.

I spin way too much to enjoy it, it is the sort of spinning that comes just before being very sick. I've put my foot on the floor, or sometimes my hand on the wall, for ages, I was pleased to see it pop up in Frances Ha (which was a great film).

Your spins do not sound fun. Frances Ha was such a lovely film!

Drunken internetting is my favourite thing. I do adore you for still using the word 'retrospective' despite being pissed.

I took a lot of time and corrections with the first half, and then couldn't be bothered to change the typos, which is why it starts off fairly coherent and then descends rapidly.

I would quite enjoy the spinning did it not come with an Awful Feeling of Foreboding about how I will feel the next morning...

Yay drunk lj-ing!

Thanks for coming to see me in Edinburgh, by the way! It was good to meet you (although sorry I couldn't seem to manage a proper conversation - I was a bit high on 'ooh! people like our singing!' after so many people had told me not to expect an audience at all), and it was really good to recognise a face in the audience.

How were the rest of the fringy things you were seeing? I saw Sandi Toksvig and Mitch Benn and Showshoppers and lots of amazing music (and also that authentic Fringe experience of intermittently funny young stand-up comedians in venues with incredibly sticky floors) and am now rather exhausted and rebellious at the idea that I still have to have a desk job.
