Mar. 6th, 2015 11:18 amI found I really enjoyed Fandom March Madness last year, and am looking forward to it again. Fans being funny in comments, lovely gif spams, getting to feel vaguely fannish again.
If anyone would like me to vote for their favorite character in any of the following fandoms that I don't know, tell me who and why and I shall probably do it:
Bob's Burgers
Broad City
Galavant
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Faking It
The Fosters
Glee
Gossip Girl
The Hunger Games
Reign
Pretty Little Liars
Teen Wold
The Vampire Diaries
Veronica Mars
Young Justice
The 100
Almost Human (assume US?)
American Horror Story and connections
Arrow/The Flash
Doctor Who etc
Gotham
The Librarians (becasue this isn't the great Australian sitcom)
Marvel Cinematic Universe
Nikita
Once Upon A Time
Orphan Black
Outlander
Person of Interest
Sleepy Hollow
Supernatural (Peter DeLuise's pivotal character unaccountably not an option)
The Walking Dead
The Americans
Breaking Bad
Empire
The Good Wife
House of Cards
Mad Men
Revenge
Shamlesss (US)
Sherlock
Vikings
I'm voting Pam Poovey (Archer), Ray Holt (Brooklyn 99), Troy Barnes (Community), Chloe (Don't Trust the B), Jessica Huang (Fresh Off the Boat), Jane Kerkovich-Williams (Happy Endings), Mac (It's Always Sunny), Mindy Lahiri (The Mindy Project), Miranda (Miranda), Leslie Knope (Parks & Rec), Eliza Dooley (Selfie), Xiomara Villanueva (Jane the Virgin), Rae Earl (My Mad Fat Diary), Amber Dean (Some Girls), Sansa Stark (Game of Thrones), Isobel Crawley (Downton Abbey), Sherlock Holmes (Elementary), Saul Berenson (Homeland), Galina 'Red' Reznikov (Orange is the New Black), Mellie Grant (Scandal).
I think I'm supposed to offer to trade, but I dislike leaving options blank so I don't mind, much, at this stage.

Date: 2015-03-06 11:29 am (UTC)I might suggest that for Orphan Black you should vote for Alison because if people Game of Thrones is grimdark, they should try living your life in suburbia when you're one of the results of a corporate conspiracy to create clones. (It's all sex and death, and death and sex, even outside the am dram theatre group.)
Mac from Veronica Mars because she's smart and geeky, and after what happened around her birth and her first boyfried, she deserves all the love for mostly being better than those around her.
Sally Dononvan from Sherlock because she's just so obviously bored with all these posturing men and their dick measuring competition.
(Trying to be non-spoilery in these comments.)

And I appreciate non-spoileriness! The only one I really really mind about is How To Get Away With Murder because I hear great things about it and really want to watch it before I find out what ahppens.

(Sorry for all the pre-tea typos.)
ETA: And Johanna Mason in The Hunger Games for being an active, life-saving revolutionary.
ETA2: Lola in Reign, not that I've watched it but she's played by Anna Popplewell who was Susan in Narnia, and I'd vote for her just to spite C. S. Lewis.

Date: 2015-03-06 02:42 pm (UTC)I'm a bit miffed that they've mushed Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures together as I'd probably vote River Song (because she is smug and rightly so and I can't stand all those people who say she is like it's a bad thing) and Toshiko, because she's also smart and geeky, and Rani Chandra (although I'd vote for her mother, if her mother was listed).
I did watch one series of Once Upon A Time and I'd vote for Mary Margaret as she's a good egg, and I like her name and the fact that she doesn't abbreviate it and everyone calls her by her full Mary Margaret and take that EMBD with your obsession for boy-ish nicknames.

Date: 2015-03-06 07:49 pm (UTC)The Hunger Games: Duh. Katniss.
The Vampire Diaries: Damon Salvatore
Veronica Mars: Mac
The 100: Clarke and Bellamy and NO I WON'T CHOOSE. Wait, and Octavia.
Arrow: Felicity
Marvel Cinematic Universe: Black Widow.
Once Upon a Time: Regina
Orphan Black: Allison
The Walking Dead: Michonne
Revenge: Nolan (I don't watch anymore, but he kept me going a season longer than I otherwise would have)

Date: 2015-03-06 08:27 pm (UTC)Damon Salvatore and Regina are the redeemed villains of their show, which means they still get the best one-liners and can walk a more interesting moral line than the various do-gooders that surround them.
Felicity because, though she's surrounded by ass-kickers, she has no desire to become one herself. She stays true to who she is throughout--a super-smart nerdy hacker who talks too much. She knows her own strength and value.
Despite being the token woman of the Avengers, Black Widow either ignores that fact or subverts it. She takes others' low expectations of her and twists them until she gets what she wants. Despite having no actual superpowers, she holds her own with the demigods and Iron Men and genetically enhanced soldiers.
Michonne is badass with a samurai sword. Do I really need another reason?
And Nolon has the best suits and one-liners.
