I was surprised by how well mine shut. If you can get hold of beeswax they were quite easy to make if you fancy that (I always go for just buying...). Around 18 g of beeswax grated, sprinkle over a 30cm square piece of cotton, then iron it between two pieces of greaseproof paper on a setting no higher than silk until it's all melted into it.
