Right. There is apparently a whole lot of sexin' going on which I appear to be missing out on. This is hardly fair. Fair would be spreading it around equally. Okay, so that means that everyone only gets like five minutes of groping, but I feel that's better than a select few getting all the goodness. (Of course, since I have thought of this, I get to have lots of sex. Uh oh, that's how communism keeps tripping up...) The sex and lesser spotted varieties of that type weren't included in the poll because I was more interested in things that people had done specifically for other people, kind of altruism, however small. I think I personally would be incapable of having altruistic sex, although I am more than willing to try in the pursuit of a good time cause.
The give and take among the respondents (I can't help it, it's contagious from work) was pretty equal. More people gave presents than got them, but then more people had received paid time/user pics than had given them to someone else. People are least likely to give/get something for free, and the most common thing was advice. But then I suppose that could be argued as un-altruistic, as really, who doesn't love sticking their oar in?
Also pleasing for such fluffy minded "isn't everyone lovely" liberals such as myself, people were least likely to see their friends as "soul-sucking creatures of the night". Of course, I was making the assumption that soul-sucking creature of the night was something you wouldn't want to be, but then vampires are rather popular. They are most likely to see their flist (I said it) as a source of entertainment. Now I'm thinking I should have had separate boxes for "witting" and "unwitting".
How great is livejournal? Mean: 9, Median: 9, Mode: 10.
I really wish you could do comments on the poll answers, because I really wanted to go "oh, me too!" "I thought I was the only one!" and "I have never heard of them, but I have now looked and good gracious me!". And I'm not saying for which question... oh, and for anyone feeling paranoid, lots of people I know showed up in the "love" box and nary a one in the "can't stand" box.
