If you go here and scroll down to "size comparison", it shows you the size of a nook compared to a paperback book and passport, both of which are standardish sizes and useful to know about; a wallet, which is less so but I guess handy; and... a piece of toast. Who on earth uses that as a unit of measurement? It's hardly a London bus.

Also, if you toggle between the toast and the passport, the toast is slightly smaller than the passport. I do not have my passport to hand, and I am so confused by the whole idea of using toast to choose the size of your ereader that I may have completely misunderstood bread sizes, but is that not a particularly small piece of toast? Is bread not usually larger than a passport? I can fit my passport in my jeans pocket, but I would not expect to be able to do the same with some toast.

I think I am going to get a Nook despite this. I decided that I really want an ereader with buttons to turn pages, not just swiping/tapping, and the Nook has a built in light and the non-paperwhite Kindle with buttons doesn't. Also borrowing ebooks from the library seems like a smashing idea. Does anyone have a Nook and want to tell me about it, good or bad? Did it live up to your bread-size expectations?
