I should like to state formally that I will absolutely NOT be playing the new scrabble rules, and anyone playing "Beyonce" on MY board can expect to see flying tiles shortly afterwards.
(Not that I often play. But STILL.)
(Actually I've only ever tipped up one board in my life, and that was chess, and there were extenuating circumstances.)

Date: 2010-04-07 09:23 am (UTC)I mean I've played proper noun Scrabble, and SF scrabble for that matter, but that's only because it's fun to play with the rules sometimes and if they make it official, it just isn't.
I tipped up a monopoly board once. I was eight years old, thoroughly imbued with notions of honour from boarding school stories, and outraged to discover that all the adults, who would tell me off damn promptly should I try to lie, were cheating massively and not paying rent on a property I'd acquired and forgotten about as the property card had slipped under the board. (It was one of the cheap ones too.)

Yes! Exactly.
