I am reading The Maker's Mask by Ankaret Wells (and really enjoying it - highly recommended especially as it's only £3ish for the Kindle edition). Ligeia has murmured "I will lift up my eyes to the Spires, from whence comes my help". Ha! Here's hoping that Tzenni soon discovers a perfectly normal echo and takes to singing into it. (Though she seems more likely to run an experiment about it.)

I have no clue what would happen if Ligeia met Mary-Lou, but I suspect it would involve Mary-Lou giving everyone advice on how to walk up mountains and the difference between a stepsister and a sister-by-marriage, and completely failing to notice the Order of the Neither trying to assassinate her.

I think that if the Order of the Neither tried to assassinate Mary-Lou it would end up rather like an Inspector Clouseau film, with hapless agents meeting the fates they had intended for their target while she wanders through life completely unaware of any threat.
