There's going to be an E4 reality show following students in Leeds trying to join the first UK chapter of a sorority. GOSH.. I kind of feel like I really want to watch it, but I think it might be too embarrassing for me. I need a TV-buddy for times like these, to provide mutual support and soothing me when the cringe is too painful. It's blatantly going to set it up to provoke "catfights" and laugh at attempts at sisterhood. But SORORITY SISTERS. In BRITAIN.

If it's hard to tell, then why does it actually matter whether it's innate or inspired? Oh, I see, it's hard to tell without going to see them. Not being able to dismiss a female comedian out of hand without actually watching her material? Madness! Fortunately, male performers of character comedy are all deep-down talented, and not at all inspired by role models. (Unless they're black, I imagine, in which case we can dismiss them as reckoning that "what Lenny Henry did looked easy".)

Speaking of comedy...you're going to some Fringe stuff aren't you? Or have I made it up? Anyway, my flatmate Ruby is going to be doing stuff there and if you'd like to go and watch and then report back to me what it's like, I'd appreciate it. :)

I am going to ALL (some of) the Fringe stuff! I shall try to get to see Ruby's show, though I have to say I am not overly enticed by the title.

No, I know - re title. I have only been to see her do comedy once, the first time she did it. I am not good at watching anyone possibly make a fool of themselves, I just get embarrassed. I can't remember much about it other than she wasn't so much doing stand up as she was skits with characters. I'm intrigued to know if she's got any better. (Not that she was utterly dreadful, but it wasn't my cup of tea really.)
