May. 15th, 2012 10:20 pmI have just finished Wizards of Waverly Place. Frankly the last episode was rubbish. What was the point of that competition? I mean, if the whole thing was going to be won just on who came out of the labyrinth first, why did they have the other rounds at all? They weren't even given headstarts like in Gladiators, it was RUBBISH.
Also, ALSO, in the fake second round, why didn't anyone smack Justin and Max round the head, like properly, really hard, and point out that the reason they "lost" was that ALEX MADE THEM SAVE THEIR FRIENDS' LIVES. How could they possibly blame that on Alex? I mean, be surly, and unhappy about it, BUT FOR FUCK'S SAKE. It was THEIR fault as well. Also, Alex has her faults (I was particularly cross when she sent Frankengirl to her doom with the Monster Hunters just to save the vampires - she was your FRIEND, Alex, she was lovely and a cheerleader monster) but surely she should have got some points there for being the only one who wanted to save them? I know the points didn't matter (IT TURNS OUT), but she should have got some for the principle of it.
I still really like Selena Gomez and will look forward to the film where she's being a college girl on the run. I also surprised myself into liking Mason, Alex's werewolf boyfriend, even when he was being a bit stalky. But most of all I love Harper, Alex's weird-dressing best friend who loves Alex even when she's horrid and lazy and selfish and they will be together forever and ever the end. (Though
ankaret is right - Alex has crazy chemistry with her brother Justin.)
I don't really know what to do now, four series later. Well, I'm watching my way through the first series of Seaquest despite the lack of DeLuises, as it has the presence of Stephanie Beacham. And I have my weekly fixes of Game of Thrones (would prefer a more equal opps approach to non-essential nudity if nudity there must be, Nurse Jackie (I cried at the end of the episode when Zoey was dancing in Jackie's kitchen it was so lovely), Girls (I'm really enjoying this, they are so self-absorbed and naive), Make It or Break It (more than a little formulaic, but Lauren's still awesome), Raising Hope (Martha Plimpton and the guy who plays her husband are lovely), Cougar Town (yay wine), The Middle (still enjoying this and Sue's enthusiasm matched with uselessness), Modern Family (I like the sisters especially, but everyone), Happy Endings (Alex who is Kim from 24 is great), Psych (pleasantly surprised that Shaun and Juliet are not too awful together), Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23 (I like horrible women anyway, but also James Van Der Beek recreating bits of Dawson's Creek to get women is kind of great), Community (which I like a lot but do not love like the internet), Big Bang Theory (which is shit, but still), Parks and Recreation (oh Leslie Knope, but I hope they get back to normal next as the election got really boring), Up All Night (I love that Will Arnett just accepts that Maya Rudolph is essentially part of his marriage with Christina Applegate), and Veep (which I find mildly amusing at best). Also British TV of Grandma's House, Not Going Out, Would I Lie To You, 8 out of 10 Cats (for Jon Richardson), but they all end so quickly. And American TV will mostly end soon too. I gave up on Bones because it was SO BORING.
I have a lot of DeLuise things to watch, but I'm saving them for emergencies.

Date: 2012-05-15 09:29 pm (UTC)Also I'm way behind on MIOBI, but I am very sad that they've cut the season short becasue I assume that means they don't get to the olympics ANYWAY even though they made it to 2012 and everything. I hope it's a lie. I like MIOBI so much more without Emily in it, and SO MUCH LESS without her mum.
I love Martha Plimpton. But I do not watch her thing.
I am so so pleased by the way that Juliet and Shaun being together has not resulted in Juliet SUDDENLY not seeming to know him AT ALL, and expecting him to be a totally different person to before, and has not made her boring or clingy or dull.

Date: 2012-05-15 09:52 pm (UTC)Lauren does get a chance to be particularly awesome in the episode, though!
*: using the US definition of series; MIOBI's officially cancelled.

Date: 2012-05-15 10:10 pm (UTC)MIOBI without Emily was great, but I missed all the parents. And it was odd that they just replaced her with an Emily-a-like in terms of bad background.

Date: 2012-05-15 10:18 pm (UTC)I've given up on Bones too, which leaves me with bugger-all to watch right now. Game of Thrones and Mad Men have a few more weeks to go, but none of the new things are grabbing me.

Date: 2012-05-17 10:40 pm (UTC)I'm enjoying it - I think it's pretty good. None of the characters are sympathetic, which I quite like but could easily become off-putting.
Watch JUMP! Street, then!
