WHY must people be rude about Keira Knightley? It's just upsetting. People had piped down a bit, which was nice, and then popped up to say how pretty and happy she looked on her wedding day, which she definitely did. I also found that she'd taken a year off, and went and read feminist books for a while. And when one of the interviewers said "oh, learning about empowerment and how great women are", she said "mmm, and about how much needs to be done", because she is great and I will FIGHT anyone who says otherwise. She's been cast in a Turing biopic, apparently, and people are ignoring her AMAZINGNESS and being rude. They should stop it. She has two films coming out later this year, which I look forward to. Also Orlando Bloom is in a film called Zulu which looks very good. None of these films appears to feature a DeLuise. (My favourite DeLuises aren't doing much acting, but Peter DeLuise is tweeting happily. Sometimes he tweets about missing acting. At the moment he tweets about trying to get verified, because twitter are clearly so overcome that they can't believe it's really him.) Selena Gomez has films out this year too. The Wizards sequel wasn't great, partly because Justin wasn't there so their weird chemistry was missing. She told David Letterman she made Justin Bieber cry, and the Beliebers HATE her, even more than they did before. I went to see Spring Breakers with some work friends earlier this year, and they did not cope well. One was so traumatised that he left halfway through. I thought Selena was good in it, though the others were better.

I watched the suffragette sitcom by Jessica Hynes. I didn't think much of it, though individually some of the characters were great. Maybe it will grow into itself?

(I just went to look at my icons to find this. There are loads there, I should change icons more.)

On the subject of DeLuises, have you seen Solarbabies? I can't remember whether it was you who recommended it to me in the first place but if not I need to squee at you.

I have been fond of Keira Knightley ever since she very politely and incredulously deflated Jonathan Ross who was creeping on about her not having had plastic surgery.

I don't know whether it was me who recommended it (though this post was very much a recommendation to the entire world), but I have definitely seen it! I love it. It's so ridiculous, and wasn't Peter DeLuise pretty in it?

I didn't see her do that, but I can well believe that she was very good at doing so.

It's like ET and Mad Max had a crack baby. On rollerskates. And just when you think it can't get any more insane Alexei Sayle shows up as a bounty hunter! And then the winner of the Servalan Appreciation Society's annual cosplay contest shows up as a mad scientist! It is like pure distilled Eighties in a box and I am so glad you brought it to my attention.

I know!! Of ALL the people I might have expected to show up in that, Alexei Sayle was never even considered. And I can't believe how much the baddy woman wasn't even a bit like Servalan, but WAS Servalan. And the idea of rollerskates IN THE DESERT being a good idea. I wish someone involved with the production would write a memoir.

I saw Jessica Hynes in St Pancras a few weeks ago and her dog was wearing a knitted coat.

HMM. I am pleased that she does what she wants, but a dog wearing a knitted coat does not seem like something I would do.

I was dangerously close this week to BUYING a pattern to make cardigans for my friends three sausage dogs. I alarmed myself with how enthusiastic I was about this.

But sausage dogs go on forever! You'd have all that boring samey bit to do between the leg holes.

I am pretty sure that the main reason I bought most of my new bathroom from the people I did is that they had a mini dachshund puppy when I first went in there, that was actually smaller than my feet.

I have stopped being rude about Keira Knightley because of you because I know it upsets you and that is Just Plain Wrong. See, we can learn and change our being rude about Keira Knightley ways. And actually, Keira being in it makes me more likely to see a Turing biopic, which otherwise I probably wouldn't because of reasons.

Also that is an ace reason to take a year off and that actually makes me love her quite a bit. Tell me more things about how awesome Keira is. I shall also look up wedding pics of her, and it is because of you, and not at all because I am a total sucker for wedding dresses (because they are improbable and everyone says how wrong they are and in a parallel universe somewhere I am running a wedding dress shop, but it is the Black Books of wedding dress shops. A wedding dress shop named Black Books would be great, actually, better than all those wedding pun names.)

Hmm, I wonder if I have contracted an archive disease that just makes me babble on?

Everyone was really impressed with Keira because they thought she wore a pretty dress she'd worn before instead of a big expensive for the sake of it dress (it turned out it just looked like one she'd worn before), with sunglasses and flats. I ama big fan of flats over heels anyway. She got married at the town hall near her mother's house in France. She also was the face of an Amnesty International campaign about human rights, and did that advert for Women's Aid.

You should definitely run a wedding dress Black Books shop.

Aw, she looks very bouncy and happy in her dress and jacket and flat shoes.

What advice do you have for my wedding dress Black Books shop?
