I have to go into town, P-town as one of my lj friends would term it. I don't want to go into town, I want to stay in bed all day. There have been some changes in accommodation. I used to sleep in my old bedroom, which has a double bed, while my sister and her husband were in her old bedroom which had two single beds. Then the single beds got turned back into bunk beds, and I sleep here and they have the room with the double bed. It's a nice change, but it's odd being back in the bunk beds. I used to push my feet up against the slats to annoy my sister, and now I am bigger there is no room to lift my legs up to do so, even if she were still above me. There are teeth marks and missing varnish at the heads of the beds because we used to gnaw on the wood when we were little. I have no idea why, but I remember doing it a lot.

Anyway, I have to leave the bunk beds and go to town to post the Christmas present to my Great Aunt. I should also take advantage of being near shops to get the remainder of my Christmas shopping done. I need something for my sister, and a stocking present for my Dad or brother-in-law, as there is already a more generic present that can switch between them. Ugh. Normally I feel that I am quite good at buying presents for people but this year has not been so successful. I would really like to get something for my sister that she will love, but is still a surprise to her, but I haven't found anything and it feels a bit like a failure. Maybe if I were a GOOD sister I would just know her and know what to get her! That is how it works in books! We are not in books, and she'll like what I give her from her list anyway, so I don't know why I'm stressing about this. Also I am worried that one of my nephew's stocking presents is the same thing I gave him last year, only I can't remember. But he is two, he won't remember either.

I am hungry. My mum's note this morning seems to suggest that there might be bacon in the fridge.

I also used to gnaw my bunk bed. Probably would still now if I had one.

I have never met anyone else who's done it before! Our extended family (who know because they have sometimes slept in the beds and had the marks explained) all think it is very very weird of us.

Was yours that really soft pine? Mine was, and it was very satisfying to chew on.

Yes! Just enough give.

I can't exactly remember doing it, but I do have an exact sensation of how it feels, so I think I must have.

Eat the bacon and all will be well.

Sadly I couldn't be arsed to cook the bacon, so I toasted a muffin and put ham and cheese in it instead. It was still pretty nice.

Ham is basically bacon for days when you can't be arsed. (Unless you are Thekla von Stift and can eat bacon raw, in which case you might as well call it ham and be done.)

P Town hahaha! It's a shame I didn't know, we could have met up and done some doomed Christmas shopping together (I went to the garden centre on the way home, instead).

Meeting up would indeed have been great! My Christmas shopping was indeed doomed, but I'm in Covent Garden for an hour or so tomorow so I'm hoping something will be there then.
