I started watching Camp, a US show about a summer camp with Rachel Griffiths. It's set in the US, but made in Australia, and like HALF the cast of Dance Academy are in it! Sammy, and Ethan (Kat's brother), and Abigail all have big parts, Christian is there as well and Grace showed up briefly. It's really lovely to see them again, I got very attached.
Only two more competencies to finish tonight and then I can forget about them for a week. I have never managed a quality service in my life, and don't intend to start now, but I can't exactly put that down.
Yesterday I had an individually sized butterscotch carte d'or ice cream and it was just the right amount of melted and I can think of little else. Sadly I have no more. Nor any other kind of ice cream, which is remiss of me. I have a rhubarb fruit corner, and that's it. I crave something sweet, maybe suety, and hot. I could make something, I suppose. I have some dark cooking chocolate, maple syrup, golden syrup, treacle, various sugars, cinnamon, eggs, and even a bit of milk. If I can find some bothered to be I could have an application break and put things together and then heat them up until there is a significant change in their status. I could even use the cookbooks I bought yesterday.
I bought some boots on ebay. They are black calf-length DMs with glow in the dark foot skeletons. They were £70, which is quite a lot, but they were originally on buy-it-now at £85, so I have been fooled into thinking I got a bargain.
I finished The Long View so now I can read something more cheery, probably A Civil Contract, perhaps interspersed with the first couple of Malory Towers fill-ins I bought in Dublin.
Back in October my unread bookpile numbered 152 books. It is now 182, and that's not taking into account the non-fic I've acquired. By my calculations I've only read 5 of the previous pile, so that's another 35 books since mid-October, not counting books that I acquired and then read immediately, or new books that aren't fiction and so aren't in the pile. I need to go on a holiday somewhere with lots of opportunity for reading.
Here is the new pile:
