It looks like a levitating Elvis impersonator too! Perhaps levitation is against the law, especially if you are trying to tether yourself to earth by grabbing the foot of your jumpsuit-wearing friend whose quiff is far less successful than your own?
I hadn't even noticed the footgrabbing! There's so much going on in the picture. I feel like it's probably based on a real life event in the painter's life that he's trying to work through.
I think it's a foot, although it does resemble a mermaid's tail, too. I'm sensing a reinterpretation of The Little Mermaid happening here.
I wonder if the painter will update it as they work through their issues. Perhaps Elvis impersonators are to them what clowns are to some other people?
