Is it possible/in the bounds of affordable to get zips put into pull on boots. I need a new pair of knee high boots possibly slightly less than I need a hole in the head, but there is a shop that has a pair of dark turquoise suede boots with beautiful embroidery on the calves. I'm pretty sure that feet wise they'd fit, but I just can't get my heel into the heel vlbecausecthe rest of my foot sticks. So I am having silly Thoughts about buying them, slotting them open and putting in a zip, but would like advice on possibility before I go back and look at them again. I don't even knknow how much they are. Probably ridiculous amount, it's one of the boutiques where everything's priced in dollars.

I've had two massages so far and not yet got out of bed before noon. I'm now watching sex and the city 2 and knitting. Satc2 is already as dreadful as it's heard and it's not ten minutes in yet.

Irrelevant to this post but wanted to flag it up to you - did you see that the parliament has extended Salva Kiir's term as president by another three years, from 2015 to 2018?

I did, yes. Not good news, and now I'm quite apprehensive about the situation. It's already been more tense for a while, with national security increasing restrictions - I'm blithely assuming I'll be fine, but worried about the staff I send out.

eHow says it's possible:

I actually have a pair of boots I'd love to do this with, but plan to use you as a test case.

Omg I had actually just opened yahoo to email you and here you are. I was going to email because my holiday ibvoles lying around reading the bits of the internet I've missed while hectic in juba, but I am running out. So I wanted to drman/ask nicely if you would do anonymous comments because you always have good ones. And I plan to leave a series of comments on various topics that will blatantly be me.

Also that is a good link. Now I have to see how much I'm willing to spend on boots that I can't wput on and couldn't wear if I could AND need effort on my part. Though I would rather you were my guinea pig. Ooh, you do the right one and I'll do the left and we can compare! Makes total sense!

the zippers are probably findable and cheap on etsy, there are lots of zipper sellers there, even if you're not buying in bulk. the metal teeth increase the price but they still don't break the bank.

it's sewing them in that's the challenge, you'd need a heavy duty machine for that. not sure if that's a project I'd tackle!

I fully intend to solve the problem by paying someone else to fix it! I hadn't thought of needing metal teeth for the zippers, I've not seen them at the market. Also not sure the tailors' Old singers could cope. Fortunatelyy I decided to be financially sensible and ignore the boots.
