This is epic. Also I genuinely didn't know that Waitrose existed during our childhood. I sort of thought it came into being in the late nineties. In the eighties I knew only Spar.

1904, apparently! I would now like to clarify that we did not often do a food shop at Sainsburys, but it was the last shop on the way home from the shopping centre, so we stopped there for occasional things including, apparently, cake.

My mum taught at my primary school, so I hope her colleagues enjoyed reading about our decadent life of cake and wine. (Though possibly it was more a hint on my part than an actuality? I don't remember ever having Waitrose cakes when I was little.)

Oh god, it is basically the equivalent of all the recommendation quotes we put on the front of proposals, isn't it? All I need to do is change "Chloe" and "Erica" to "the UN" and "CGA" and it's good to go.
