Since there seems to be a resurgence of interest in lj I thought I would try anonymous comments: for others who are at work and in a better position than usual to skive; for those who are too busy (perhaps as a result of other people's failures) and cross about it; for those with scandal; for those who wish to share embarrassing medical details- for all of us, frankly. I'm just hoping for enough comments that I can slip some of mine in there casual-like, and it wouldn't be blatantly obvious.

This is in fact me, I'm just testing that I've turned off screening and don't have to log out.

Works if you dehumanise all the people you don't wish peace and goodwill to, which is indeed how everything is going.

I've seen quite a lot of stories about Muslim restaurants providing free Christmas meals etc for Christmas, which is a nice counterpoint (though it seems like a very small counterpoint against the mass of evil in the world at the moment).

to make amends for being ragey anon above - if you could have one present and you were only allowed to ask for something selfish for yourself then what would you want?

i want a perfect house in an ideal location with a great view and good transport links.

fitting captcha is fitting - Sonia's house

Classic FM is playing some LotR music in my ears so I'm feeling quite calm and a bit Christmassy, as my sister made us a tradition of seeing the films at Christmas (admittedly a short-lived one).

Only ONE??? but I have no trouble asking for something for me :). At the moment what I want is the gift of knowledge, specifically when my job will be ending. But I think it's more in the spirit of the question to pick something that can be bought. SO. I would like £4000 to go and spend a few weeks measuring snow etc in Churchill, California, at the centre for arctic research there. OR. A round the world plane ticket with unlimited stopovers.

I have a little (ickle tiny) bit of a crush on Jeremy Clarkson. I am deeply ashamed and barely ever admit it even to myself.

Ha! I read quite a lot of RPS when Alice and I were bizarrely hooked on Top Gear one summer, so I can assure you you're not alone!

Oh, and to possibly ruffle some feathers, there is a massive bag of Reece's peanut butter cups at the end of my row of desks, and no-one in, so I could be eating handfuls of them, but I DON'T LIKE THEM so they're going to waste.

I don't think they taste of sick like Hersheys, but Reece's chocolate does seem to be cut with grit.

Steal them and give them to someone you hate.

I don't like any sweet things with peanuts in.

I hate the idea of Reese's peanut butter cups, but goddammit I love the things themselves.

I once trekked frozen Reece's to Africa (can't remember which country) for Jess, so I even could give them to people I like on the basis that ykinmkato. I comforted myself with maltesers from the vending machine.

I have a gross blood blister on my thigh. It burst* so I have to wear a huge plaster over it and it is still being gross.

*Ok, ok, I squeezed it.

I would totally have squeezed it too*. Though for blisters what I like is to prick with a needle and ooze it out that way.

* Had I a blood blister of my own. I would not squeeze yours without very specific consent and closeness.

I like to know I am not alone in my squeezing. It was satisfying squeezing as it shot bloody gunge EVERYWHERE. Then it oozed. I have done needle and ooze with boils.

Awww an anonymous post, bless!

I am bitter about the 5,000 people on the Facebook group talking about the good old days of LJ. Why aren't they putting those efforts into actually posting on LJ again??

Ha - I had a snarky remark about that in my first draft of this post, but removed it in the festive spirit. It was basically getting miffed at people who think that if htey're not here it's "dead". Also, as Jen pointed out once, it's commenting that's the important thing to keep it going - it is nice to read posts, but the thing that keeps people going on lj and keeping in contact is making actual comments to people.

That thing is why I'm posting again right now. I'd have come back eventually anyway, but it got it started for me. I'd rather be here with all of you anyway - I have yet to see anyone I've been missing post over there.
