Miscounted backstroke

This morning when I was swimming I miscounted my backstrokes and smashed my head into the tiles. And the week is going to continue to be this horrible until about Thursday evening.

It would comfort me greatly to know that it is not in fact the case that everyone else is doing brilliantly, so if you would like to have a grump in the comments, that would be lovely. Sod positivity.

What happens if there just aren't the jobs? That's gloomy all right. Here, we just have to show that we have been doing job-seeking "activity", so my last JSA book reads "looked on university webpage - no jobs. Looked on jobs.ac.uk - no local jobs. Asked a friend if they knew of any jobs - they did not".

Okay, I'm not going to stay all grumpy if you make me laugh!

Technically, it's only a problem if they ask to see my job log. They do that randomly. I think they can suspend payment of unemployment benefits and make you start taking their stupid job search and resume classes. I don't know - I'm tempted to start applying for jobs I'm patently unqualified for, like NASA space engineer, just to meet my quota.

Can you count informal applications, like emailing contacts for speculative jobs? Email me, I totally don't know of any, and then that's an application.
