If I have been storing clothes under my bed for the past five years and not worn any of them for that time, they should go straight to the charity shop without any pretence that they might be useful at some unspecified time in the future, shouldn't they? Even the dress that I'm wearing now that would be perfect for a summer daytime occasion where I couldn't have too much cleavage on show but needed to be cool? Not that I've any intention of attending such an event, but STILL.

Is there anything you can do with shoes that are perfectly solidly built but too scuffed to wear to work that isn't just throw them away?

A shortish while ago I sent a load of bras to a charity and sold a bunch more on ebay, and I've just done a large wash of them, and I think I still have about 22. Less than 30's still totally within the normal range, isn't it?

I am going to sort through my books with considerably less ruth than I have previously allowed myself, and firmly expect to have an enormous amount of them to take to bookswaps. In the meantime, if anyone wants these they are welcome to them: (free, inc postage in the UK, postage only outside the UK)

Ooh, Looking for Alibrandi, please! I know I owe you a few, though, so if someone more deserving comes along, do give it to them.

Could I have Powder and Patch, please? That's one of the ones I haven't bought yet. Thank-you!

Absolutely! There are two or three more I mean to attempt, and I'll pass those your way if they're not in your collection once I've read them.

If you email me (lj address is okay) I will post it to you. Although I'm planning to go to some theatre in Manchester in the next month or so, and if you might be around for a coffee or something I could pass it on in person?

Oooh, yes! We should meet! That would be great, and that'll save on your postage. And stop the postman stealing the parcel, which I'm convinced her does sometimes. Email me when you know when you're coming, so we can arrange it - carminerosebeetle at hotmail dot com.

I'm trying to read one of Heyer's mysteries, Penhallow, but it's dragging a little. I might have to go back to romance, though I hate discarding books halfway through.

Yes! Am I seeing you at some point? Shall I post, or shall we use this as an opportunity to make a Plan?

D'you know, I don't think we actually have any plans-already-made at the moment. I think we should definitely make a Plan. I will ponder.

Oooh, could I have the Robert Cormier's please.

If you are coming to Manchester in the next month I can (hopefull) meet you then and collect them.

Was bra selling successful on Ebay. I have a lot of nice bras that I don't wear as they no longer fit and have been toying with what to do with them. Some extra cash for them would be reet nice.

It was. They didn't go for huge amounts, but just under a fiver each, I think. Larger bras seem to, scant compensation for them costing more. If you don't think they'd sell (plain/old-fashioned), then there's a charity that takes bras for homeless women.

I am planning theatre in Manchester and would love to see you again, so definitely an in-person hand-over would be good!

All my bras are quite saucy.

I've also been considering "well worn shoes" (being fully aware of what that means), mainly because I have a lot of shoes that I don't wear anymore and in my head I can justify the weirdness as philanthropy.

Yep! It is covered in stickyback plastic but is not too horrible. Email me your address.

Under 30 bras being normal?
I have 4 in regular useage. Am I under-bra-ed?

It is almost entirely about trying to convince myself that I do not have a problem, and that it's fine to buy bras if I want them! Which I almost believe. Not all of my 22 are in regular usage, but they do all at least fit. If you have four perhaps I'm using up your allocation?

That's fine then :)

It IS fine to buy bras if you want them, and what's more, finding bra that fits AND does something for you should cause immediate purchase, with much merriment. I couldn't be bothered looking any further once I found the fit I wanted, so got multiple. Lazy me.

I did not know that! I tried to polish them up with a cheap buffer thing from the corner shop, but that did not do anything at all. At the moment they are residing under my bed because I only have to wear trainers, but once I have a need for Proper Shoes again, I shall take them to be polished. I would very much like to feel like a 1950s businessman.
