I am back from Tunisia. As today is an Edinburgh holiday I didn't have to go to work, which was good for many reasons, not least that I am still suffering from tummy troubles and don't want to be too far from a toilet. Hopefully it will have cleared up enough that going back in tomorrow will not be too tricky. I am mostly annoyed because I got a discount voucher to have lovely disgusting delicious Dominos pizza, but I don't think it's a good idea so I've been eating cereal and crisps. (That might also not be a good idea, but it is what I have in the house).
I left my phone either on the plane from Tunis, or somewhere in Heathrow. It is a pain. I am not at all hopeful that it will get returned to me, as Tunis Air has a selection of random email addresses, half of which bounce back, and I don't think I can really call Tunisia from work. Oh well. I will get a replacement SIM tomorrow and stick it in an old phone, then I can work out if I need to replace my smartphone, and if so what with. Maybe a refurbished or out of date phone from ebay. Unfortunately I hadn't taken all the photos off the phone, though most of them are just pictures of my books that are easily re-taken. (I use them as a quick reference when in bookshops to try and avoid unnecessary duplication. And for forcing people to look at and admire.) Annoyingly, I looked at the back-up option for the first time the other day, but did nothing about it. Ho hum.
Mostly (I hope) for reasons of holiday comedown and slight unwellness, I have been feeling rather down today. I would probably feel better if I actually had done something that wasn't just lie about watching TV and messing about online, but really, how can one resist the forces of the bed/sofa and laptop? At least I am not actively dreading work, that's always nice. We had a nice conversation about the Mitfords the day before I left. I can't remember why. We're going to go out as a team to a pub quiz soon. There'll almost certain be some cake on the cake table.
I should go and have a shower, but Jess and I squeezed in a hammam before the flight yesterday, and I am sulky about the thought of having to wash myself instead of a lady doing it for me and throwing buckets of water over me. (And instructing us very sternly on how to wash ourselves under our pants. With vigour, mostly.)

I will remember to wash under my pants with vigour. As indeed should we all.
